My Mommy and Daddy came to visit!

Thanks to Emma turning 8, we had a nice visit by my Mommy and Daddy!! And would you believe, I didn't get a single picture of them while they were here :( They drove across the country in 2 days! They had 3 drivers so they were just able to drive and drive and drive!! My mom helped me get things ready for Emmas baptism and my Dad put up a shelf in the basement and got me started on re-caulking my bathtub. We went on a hike to the Paw Paw tunnel and the kids really enjoyed going through the tunnel with flashlights. My mom, Sarina, Becca and I went shopping all day at the outlets. It just wouldn't be a trip to my house without a stop at the outlets!

(They had so much fun together during this visit!)

Ben and Sarina stayed in a hotel with a pool, so we took advantage of that one night. We got milkshakes late one night and stayed up playing cards.
Emma was being a fountain, not sure if you can see the water she is spitting out of her mouth

This is my beautiful niece, Avery!

I love having family come to visit and hope that one day we will live close enough to them to spend more time together. So until then, I will take more pictures so I have them as our memories.

Emmas Baptism

Emma and Daddy before her baptism

Emma turned 8 on June 1st and we had her baptism on June 2nd. She had so many friends and family come. My mom and dad, my brother Ben and his wife Sarina and my sister Becca and her sweet daughter Avery, all came from Utah! She had 3 friends come from school and many church friends.

In our Church, children are baptized when they turn 8. It is called the "age of accountability." At this age, they know right from wrong and can make decisions on their own. She has been counting down the months and then days until her special day!!

Her Gram and Grandpa gave talks on Baptism and the Holy Ghost. Her Uncle Ben was a witness and her Aunt Sarina and Becca gave prayers. Trey and I sang "I like to look for Rainbows" and he did a great job. That boy has a wonderful voice and was really excited to surprise his sister with our duet.

A special moment between us happened when I took her through the restroom to the baptismal font. I gave her a hug and told her how proud I was of her and she said that she had been waiting for this day for so long and couldn't believe it was finally here! It was the sweetest thing and I told her that she would remember this day for the rest of her life.

After the baptism, we had a dinner for the guests. Emma requested a cake that was like a wedding cake with tiers. A sweet lady in our Ward made this wonderfully yummy cake!

Spring Happenings 2011

I did this last year and it was so much easier than writing individual posts for everything that happens in the Spring. Enjoy! We did!

Trey had his first Pack meeting and he got some badges.

Chase got to dress up as a cowboy for school, so cute!

Flowers are starting to bloomLeah continues to lose teeth and is starting to look like a jack-o-lantern

Easter Clothes

Leah had her art displayed at the art show at the mall!

She also performed in her end of year Kindergarten program

The girls had their dance recital

It's been really hot, like record breaking, so the kids took advantage of the sprinkler

Trey had his Spring Band Concert and did so good. He is the only trumpet player. This is his first year and he didn't miss a note!

Emma turned 8!! I will save a special post for her baptism.
How did you spend your Spring??

Visit from the Morans

Waayy back in March, we got a surprise visit from the Moran family!! Even though it was a visit under not so good circumstances, we were happy to see them. My kids really love their cousins who live in Germany and love to tell people that their cousins live in Germany!! Here are some pictures from their visit.

Valentines Day!!

I just had to sent a shout out to my wonderful husband and the sweetest card ever that he made me for Valentines Day!!

This is us on our wedding day, January 31, 1998.

And this is the card he made me, 13 years later and I would say our love is even stronger than our wedding day!

Guess who is a double-digit midget??

Trey turned 10 and is officially a 'double-digit-midget' This is starting to make me feel old having a child who is 10!! It's crazy. Trey really didn't want a birthday party this year, but he did invite some of his closest friends over for a sleepover. He has had 2 great buddies since pre-k. They are Eli and Ralphie. The 3 of them get along so well and there is no jealously or drama like my girls have with their friends (what is up with that anyway?? They are in kindergarten and 2nd grade, I didn't think this started so early??)

Trey has been obsessed with Nerf guns this year. All he wanted for his birthday was Nerf guns, and alot of them, so when his friends come over, they can have gun battles. Don headed to Toys r Us and they were having a sale on the Nerf products of buy one get one half off. So he loaded up the cart. I don't know who was more excited, Trey or Don, haha.

Okay, maybe Trey was more excited than Don!!

Happy 10th Birthday Trey!

Leah Beah turns 6!

Wow, how the time has flown. Leah's birthday always reminds me about the time we have been in our home. We moved to Cumberland 6 weeks before Leah was born and it was a whirlwind 6 weeks of unpacking, doctor appts., painting, doctor appts., taking down wallpaper, doctor appts., hanging pictures and then our sweet Leah was born.

Leah had her first friends birthday party this year. She invited some friends from school and some from her dance class. They played dress-up, had makeovers done and ate pizza and cupcakes. I think she really enjoyed having friends over to her house.

I almost forgot, Leah really wanted to get her ears pierced and I told her when she turned 6, we would do it. She was very brave(but she has already let them close up!)
