Christmas Concert

Trey had his first band concert this year. He is playing the Trumpet and surprisingly, picked it up rather quickly.

Funny story...Trey told me the concert started at 10 a.m. So I dropped the kids off at school and headed home to do a couple of things before I went back to the school. I planned to leave at 9:30 so I would get there in good time to get a good seat. Well my phone rang at 9:20 and it was the school secretary asking if i was coming to the concert. I told her "yes" and she told me that they were just waiting for me to come!! I was mortified! I jumped in the car and raced to the school feeling like the worst mother ev-er! I guess they had announced that they were going to start as soon as the last 'mom' arrived. So of course, when I come running in, all the parents know that it is ME who is the 'last one' to arrive. Oh well, Trey was getting a little worried that I wasn't coming, but in my defense, I was told the wrong time!

Look at his concentration!

Great job Trey, keep up the good work!

I hope you can think back on the experience and laugh now. I've had plenty of things happen to me like that that are embarrassing at the time and so frustrating when it wasn't your fault! Way to go Trey for playing the trumpet!

Hey there, i wanted to respond to your blog comment but didn't have your email address, so hopefully you check this. the color that we used in our room is called ivory brown by valspar. i really like the color alot. it's slightly cool, but not so much so that the room feels cold at all. i had originally had a RL paint color picked out and liked it so much that i switched in line getting it mixed (which i never do). if you're looking though for a brown grey color, we also have a REALLY pretty one in our DR, it's a little darker than the bedroom and is called "true grey" by ralph lauren. home depot doesn't carry RL paint anymore, but before they stopped i went and took every sample that they had. they were the prettiest colors, and now i have them all here if i need to pick a new color (so delighted by the small things;)
the color in the kids room is called Stone 2 by Laura Ashley, a nice neutral tan that matches the bedding.
you also asked once about my ear rings, sorry though i don't know where from. they were a gift. i wear them all the time though, they match everything. i'm like one of those pages in the back of "people magazine" ..."she really loves her..." and is wearing them in every picture! thanks alot for checking in on my blog. i really enjoy and appreciate your nice comments;) take care, shauna
